Tom Keifer – Woodstock Fair Aug 30th 2014

I just realized that I havent really posted any concerts on the blog in awhile, just on my Facebook page.  So here we go!!

Another blast from my past!

Tom Keifer is the lead singer of the band Cinderella, a glam metal band out of Philly, that back in 1986 rose to fame on the back of their album “Night Songs”.  Now who doesnt remember that video with the twin girls and Jon Bon Jovi in it.

My all time favoriet album from them was “Long Cold Winter”, the change to the bluesy rock  style from the first album was fantastic.  But that is just my opinion. “Heartbreak Station” was their next album, but unfortunately Tom’s vocal chords suffered an almost career ending blow.  Causing their 4th album “Still Climbing” to be delayed.

He has conquered that issue with his vocal chords and has issued a solo album, “The Way Life Goes”

I got the chance to see him live and get some pics at the  Woodstock Country Fair on August 30th.  Surprisingly I had never seen Cinderella before so I was excited about this and even showed up a couple of hours early to grab a spot at the front.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI was not disappointed I had a great spot (tho it couldve been better) right in front of his lead guitarist, Tony Higbee.  That man can shred!

From what I could find online about the back up players, most of them are from the Nashville music scene.  Makes me wish I lived in Nashville lol.

Also in the back up band are bassist Billy Mercer, drummer Paul Simmons and keyboardist Paul Taylor.

I have to do some more research into Paul Taylor, he has played with Alice Cooper in the past so there is a good chance I have seen him before.

Unfortunately from that vantage point, I really couldn’t get a good shot of the bassist Billy Mercer.  Dont get me wrong a few were taken, but he was wayyyyyy over on the side of the  stage from where I was and at the fair there was no way I was going to move from my spot in front to another spot I might not have been able to get close to the  stage.  One of the downfalls of shooting a show like this.

One day……

Unfortunately where I was, I could not get a shot of drummer Paul Simmons.  Hopefully one day I will get to see these guys again and get the shots I missed.

One of the highlights of the show was a 4 song acoustic set where he brings out his wife, Savannah Snow and they sing a couple of Cinderella songs and a couple of his solo songs.  One of the best parts of the show.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI apologize for not getting a set list together, there are times when ya have to just enjoy the show and sing along LOL.  Be sure to check out the Gallery for more pictures and the following links to  check out Tom Keifer!
