Time For A Change….. Don’t Worry, Just For My Websites lol
For a long time now, I have thought about different ways to do my website. Especially monetizing alot of it. You know, selling prints of my pictures. In the past I have done things like Fine Art America. It was my first attempt at trying to sell my pictures and over the last 7 years I have only sold maybe 7 prints over that time making maybe a whole 40 bux that whole time lol
For 30 bux a month you can upload unlimited photos or only a few photos for free. For a year or two, I had paid for the premium account. I am still not sure if it was truly worth it.
But I still have it.

I also set up an account with Zazzle.
Now with this website, I can create more then just prints of my stuff. I have made Zippos, Prints, Coffee Mugs and so many more things. I haven’t had to pay for anything, but then I havent sold anything and I do think they will kinda charge you if you are not making anything to sell on the site. so thats a great thing. I am thinking maybe hats and tshirts next lol
I have made a few sales off of this site, maybe 2 bux over 5 years?
I don’t think, I am going to get rid of this site just yet.

I have been for the last 7 years kinda working on my own website, got a hell of a deal with https://www.webhostingpad.com/
But
It isnt really all that easy to set up to sell my photos.
Yes FAA and Zazzle can sell them and print them and send them.
Unfortunately, I only get a commission and to even get a decent amount of money, I have to really charge an arm and a leg. For example, the coffee mug I have below is just over 20 bux on Zazzle and I think I only get 2 or 3 dollars from that.
So I started looking at different websites, ones that I could use to sell my images thru. I think I have found one. I found this one that I can upload my images to and choose whether or not if I want to sell them.
These guys are really geared towards the professional photographer. Yea I am paying alot each month for it.
But…..
I didnt have to set up a ecommerce thing at my usual webhost.
I didnt have to set up an account with someone else to run credit cards
I didnt have to worry about placing the order for the print.
They do it all for me.
They add the watermark, they suggest a photo lab to deal with, they even give you a few templates to work with. I like it.
After playing around and setting up my price lists and keywords and stuff, it is all just a matter of uploading a picture and filling out a few simple boxes about the image and viola its done.
I have also started a small blog there that is geared towards that website, and will deal strictly with my photography. It shouldn’t affect what I blog about on here, except that one will be more regularly lol
I do plan on being a bit more active on this blog.
I dont think I am ready to migrate my Domain to that web host yet.
But
One day
Maybe.
I am interested in knowing if you have a website that you sell prints from, what do you think of it? Have you had success with Zazzle or Fine Art America?
I would love to know.
